Alejandra's Fan Fiction Draft

Info about my story: This is a fan fiction about a group of very different and original individuals. They all have their own story, their own experiences and issues. But this is the story about one of them and the difference she makes to the group as well as the sometimes-unwanted- negative energy she drags with her; this is the story about Rachel.

A bit about the main character: Rachel is used to getting her way all the time. She was a spoiled girl when growing up and she had everything she always wanted from her daddy, and yes, OK, she has come a long way finding a job at Central Perk as a waitress and being a bit more independent, but she still needs to learn a lot of important values if she wants people to really want to get to know her and those who already know her to love her as a person and for who she really is.

Something else, a bit more, extra info, a question at the end of the paragraph before the dialogue, etc: There have been times where everyone's plans would need to change because of Rachel and lots of negative things have happened because of her, everything turns out good in the end, but here is an ordinary gone extraordinary day in Central Perk, where the friendly friends might have had enough of their little sweet Rache; let's see.

This is the year 2020, all friends are in their late 40s. Little Emma is already 16 but her mother Rachel refuses to grow up and is more inmature than her and is obviously stuck in the past. It's 3pm and as everyone is getting ready for Chandler's work promotion (finally after years of working in the same company), that by the way no one saw coming as noone knows what he does, everyone is excited and happy for him, to see him achieve his goals and dreams and it is all about him today...yes it is...well, that's what everyone had in mind; at least 5 of them...

Rachel: "Hey guys, how's everyone this afternoon" (with a low, almost whispering and emotional voice)

Everyone but Phoebe or Ross: "Hey Rach, we are all good and getting ready for tonight, how are you doing?"

Rachel: "Hmmm..you know, just ok, I am not sure how I am feeling lately and it's driving me crazy"

Everyone's look is as if they were saying: Ohhhhh..here we go again everyone. So noone wants to ask anything but Monica, the nice and caring friend she is, asks Rachel in a bit of a bored way:

Monica: "Why Rach, what's wrong now?"

Rachel: " You don't have to sound so uniterested in my issues Monica, is not like I am giving you a lecture or something"

Monica: "C'mon Rach, we don't have all day, today is Chandler's day and you are not even ready yet, please don't do this, you always have to be the centre of attention specially when we have other important things to focus on...it cannot be about you today, it just can't"

Rachel: "Monica, don't be mean, it's not like that..I can't believe you would say something like that. Raising her voice so that nobody interrumpts her as usual..Okay, I think I'm in love with Ross again, he's been so nice to me and Emma lately and I can't help but have all those feeling back and maybe, who knows you know, I might have another chance with him??"

Monica: "For godness' sake Rach, you love him, you hate him, you love him, you hate him..make up your mind! The world does not revolve around you! Show some respect, he is in love with Phoebe and he has been for a long time, they're getting married! There's nothing you can nor should do"

Rachel: "I can't believe what I am hearing from you, you are so harsh Monica, you really know how to make someone feel sad and depressed, I don't know why Chandler would even marry you, you are not his type! (silence and surprise from everyone) There is something I can do you know..Tell Ross! What can I lose? We have history, we have a child and I am sure he still feels something for me, why else would he be so nice to me all of a sudden? I know he is having doubts about marrying Phoebe, I know it and nobody can stop me from telling him how I feel...NOBODY...I have to do something about my feelings!!!!"

Monica: "Haven't you ever thought we have had enough?? All you think about is yourself, if you are happy, we all have to be, if you are sad, we all have to be; we are very tired of your constant change of behavior, we never know how you will wake up! We are always thinking you might ruin our day with your selfishness...well guess what? We don't give a small cucumber about your feelings anymore, we are tired. Well, we have had enough! We all thought you had moved on and wanted to find someone else to settle with! We thought you had grown up, mature and understood Ross and Phoebe are happy together"

Rachel: "But Mon..."

Monica: "But Mon nothing Rach (crying her eyes out), look how long we have wasted with you today when we should be getting ready and celebrating Chandler, look at him now, so miserable, having to witness your childish behavior once again...(and with a sarcastic tone Monica continues...) Oh poor little Rachel, she is going through a crisis..AGAIN!!"

In the meantime, little Emma arrives at the apartment with her boyfriend Josh and she overhears everyone's conversation and interrups Monica...

Emma: "I totally agree with you Aunt Monica. Mum, you need to grow up man, far out, everyone is just so tired and sick of your constant changes and phases...you drag us all them and it is not fair! I am also really tired of all of this and I have decided I am moving out of your house and I will move in with Josh who lives next to my dad, Ross. I don't care if you don't agree, but I am 16 years old and I have my life more figured out than you have yours!"

Rachel: "What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!...Can somebody please tell me what in the world is going on here?? Well Emma, it is also nice to hear what you really think baby but you're being dramatic, well you got that from your dad there"

It's already 6pm and it is too late to go to Chandler's party anymore. With a little dissapointment and with some worry, Chandler's makes a joke about not going and tries to change the mood but fails...

Chandler: "Sooooo...I guess this means we are staying right? hahahaha (with an unconfortable laugh)...

Monica: "Shut up Chandler, I am listening..."

Chandler: "Ummmm...Ok mum"

Ross and Phoebe arrive with Champagne, ready to celebrate Chandler and with some exciting news! (we'll see how everyone takes the news)

Ross and Phoebe: "Hey everyone. let's get this..."


Monica (Already storming out and out of control so much that nobody recognise her): "Save it guys! We are not going anywhere! Rachel ruined it again, I hate her! I will never forgive her for this! I don't want anything to do with her! And guess what! She has got something to tell you guys! Get ready for the show! Let's hear what little Rachel has to say!"

Rachel: "Very funny Monica. I have never felt this upset about anything in my entire life, I was looking for a bit more support from you guys, specially from you Monica, but I guess I was wrong and I can't believe this is happening right now!" (Rachel is very upset and goes out to the balcony to think and understand Monica's abnormal behaviour towards her and to get some fresh air, but really, all she wants to do is to stare at Ross' apartment and think about what could have been if they satyed together and how it will be when she tells him how she feels...again!)

Monica (yelling from inside the apartment to the balcony): "There you go again, poor you...you...you...you!!! What about Ross and Phoebe??"

Ross and Phoebe: "What about us? What's going on here? Can anyone tell us? Or can we both share some good news with you before everything gets even more out of control?!

Chandler: "Not that it was Chandler's day or anything hehehe but if I am allowed to say something, please go ahead you guys"

Everyone but Rachel: "Good one Chandler, please tell us guys...we could use some good news right now!"

Joey: "Yes guys, please tell us! I have been holding my meatball sub for 3 hours and every time I try to bite it, someone screams or yells or complains or ahhhhhhh...would you please just tell ussssss so I can eat my sub in peace!!!!!"

Ross and Phoebe (who still have no idea about what the heck is going on!. go on as Rachel goes back inside): "We are pregnant!!!

There is a deep silence in the room, Rachel of course thinks that everyone is having sweet and sour feelings because of what she had just told everyone but she was oh so wrong. Rachel is standing there staring at Ross not believing what she has just heard. Monica sees her so Rachel assumes that Monica would have her back as usual and would say something negative about what they have just been told by Ross and Phoebe..but Monica looks at Ross and Phoebe and says...

Monica: "Well congratulations you guys!!! This great news!!! I am going to be an Aunty again! I can't believe it, I am so happy for you both!

Rachel (this is what she is thinking): "What?!?!?!?!?! I am so lost right now...why is everyone acting so careless and weird around me, what did I do? where did I go wrong? Is Monica right? I am turning into a selfish brat? Nooooo, that can't be right! I still need to tell Ross how I feel, having a baby doesn't mean anything! I raised Emma practicaly on my own...Phoebe ad 3 babies before she gave them to her brother, she can raise one on her own, I have to do this now, I have to...I have to..."

As Rachel is ready to jump and tell Ross how she feels and be "happy forever" with him when...

Rachel: "Ross!!!!! (Rachel screams)...I, I, I...(then Rachel is feeling sick and dizzy and thinks "what am I doing" and feels as she is going to pass out)"

After a few blank minutes, she regains concience and wakes up to the voices of her 5 friends but on the brown couch at Central Perk and once she has opened her eyes...

Rachel: "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh (Rachel screams)...I was dreaming!!! I was dreaming!!! It was a dream!!!

Ross: "About me? hehe"

Rachel: "You wish..Thank godness it was a dream, just a dream!!!

Everyone: "What is it, what is it?!?!"

Rachel: "Where is Emma?"

Everyone: "Who is Emma?"

Rachel: " My Daughter, who else?"

Monica: "Are you crazy? You're 26 years old, you don't even have a boyfriend yet! Stop dreaming! haha"

Everyone: "Hahahahahahahaha..that's funny Rach..."

Rachel realizes she has been given another chance to change for the better, show her real feelings on time this time and figure out what the heck she is going to do with her life)

Rachel: "Well you guys, that was an interesting dream...can we all get back to our coffess please? Oh and I forgot to tell you guys, Paolo cheated on me! I feel so sad! It was about 3 days ago...

Everyone: "Here we go again!!!..."
